Britney Baker was selected to receive the $3,000 Scholarship Award of Citizens' and Civic Associations. Brittany is the daughter of Fire-Rescue Lieutenant and Paramedic Sean Baker who has been with the Town since 1999. On behalf of the Citizens' Association, Mr. Heyman participated in the ceremony at the Town Council meeting May 7, 2013. Ms. Baker will attend the University of Florida where she will major in Biology.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD WINNER IS HONORED ANNUALLY AT A SUMMER TOWN COUNCIL MEETING

Each year a child of a Town employee is selected from a number of worthy candidates to receive the scholarship award. The Citizens’ and Civic Association organizations joined together in 1998 to create this positive program to show appreciation for those serving our Town.

A committee, comprised of a leader from each Association and the Town Human Resource Director, go through the selection process to determine the winner. We are pleased to continue participating in this program we founded 15 years ago.
