The Citizens’ Association of Palm Beach and the Palm Beach Executive Center, on the second floor of the BankUnited Building, 2875 South Ocean Boulevard, sponsored a very successful Meet & Great for all candidates running in the November General Election. Even with Hurricane Sandy’s rain-bands and gusty winds bearing down on us we had a great turnout of Palm Beachers, candidates and new businesses in the BankUnited Building (see list below). There was lots of food, drink, fun and political dialogue. All of the candidates were invited to address our guests with their respective platform for Palm Beach votes.
Our Mayor, Gail Coniglio, Councilmen Bill Diamond and Dick Kleid joined the Citizens’ Association Directors, Executive Center staff and Palm Beachers that made their way to the event on a very rainy, windy night. We even had a quick little power failure, but the power stayed on for the remainder of the event.
Chairman Lew Crampton expressed his thanks to the large group that showed in spite of Sandy. He introduced “Chairs” of the event Town of Palm Beach Mayor Gail Coniglio, town activist Bobbi Horwich and Director of the Executive Center Natasha Larsen. He asked the Mayor to introduce each of the candidates which she did and them gave them the floor.
Among our prestigious guests were: Jeff Clemens the new State Senate District 27, Lois Frankel and Adam Hasner’s representative, for U.S. Congress District 22, Ann Gannon Palm Beach County Tax Collector, Tom Gustafson for State House District 89, David Levey West Palm Beach County Commissioner District 1, Drew Martin Vice Chair of Palm Beach Soil & Water Conservation District, Mayor Pam Trio and Vice Mayor Scott Maxwell of Lake Worth, Greg Weiss representing West Palm Beach City Commission and former House Representative Mary Brandenburg.
The businesses in attendance were: In-Town Physical Therapy, South Ocean Pharmacy, Style Bar Day Spa, Century 21, Herlife Magazine and Polpnious Case Management.
We would like to thank Brett Foreman, his staff and Edi Worthington who did a lot of the work to pull our most successful event together.
